Don’t Do This At Home (…hold The virus in your hand…that is)!

This is a compilation of cartoons thrown together to make a booklet. I am old school and like to hold a manuscript or book or magazine, peruse then leave it where I found it.
That isn’t a great idea in light of today’s viral pandemic. So I decided it is best to digitalize and post.
A little background information first:
The cover depicts a cartoon I did after a couple living in Arizona was reported to have listened to Trump bloviate about Chloroquine and it’s miracle effects. They found chloroquine was an ingredient in their fish tank cleanser so they decided to mix it in a drink. They drank it and the husband died and wife became very very ill.
These acronyms appear on page 5;
“AMF YO-YO” means “Adios My Friends, You’re On Your Own”. (The “MF” can also be exchanged for the well known profanity…your choice).
Underground Cartoonist is a former ICU nurse that has worked at numerous civilian, military, and veteran Intensive Care Units across the country for better than three decades but has been sketching, drawing, and cartooning since he first picked up a crayon in kindergarten. Dabbled with political cartooning, writing, and general illustrations but the bread and butter came from health care. Recently left professional nursing to concentrate on camping, hiking, nature, the outdoors, trees, trails, and peace of mind. Love a campfire; rather watch it than TV. Avoid bureaucracy, career ladders, ladder climbers, and hero worship at all cost. Evenings spent with a good book, reading until the book smacks my nose when I doze off. Generally up at sun rise, listen to the mourning doves, put the coffee on, and play it by ear the rest of the day.

This is brilliant, if it wasn’t so scary. I mean it is brilliant – your cartoons are really accomplished. About the masks – we’re being told in the UK that although masks are vital in a clinical setting where the viral load is likely to be high, for the population, out and about, so long as you’re keeping a good distance from your fellow countrymen, not really necessary. Or maybe that’s just because we’ve not enough masks to go around, even for our clinicians?
There is a mask shortage for sure. I wear one when grocery shopping and anywhere I am around other people. It protects by 50% (better than nothing) is what Chris Martenson quotes on his YouTube updates. I have been following his updates since early January. I stay at home and don’t go out much. Just for groceries.
thank you for the complement. I hope it helps get the message out. I am not impressed with what Trump has done (mostly not done). I get texts from former co-workers and they tell me management is up to their old tricks (intimidation, propaganda, cover their ass and cover up). Nothing new.
