The American public is the target rich environment for insane, blood thirsty, well-armed, suicidal, lone wolves. DIRTY MONEY rules. It buys policy. It buys policy makers. It buys GUNS and AMMO. BANG! BANG! BANG!
May you dodge a bullet at the grocery store, the elementary school, the night club, the hospital, the comedy club, the synagogue, the local Baptist church, the fast-food drive thru, the rock concert, the football stadium, the gas station, any highway or road … ANY WHERE AT ANY TIME.
If you haven’t been shot or killed today … well … that’s considered a good day in America.
Underground Cartoonist is a former ICU nurse that has worked at numerous civilian, military, and veteran Intensive Care Units across the country for better than three decades but has been sketching, drawing, and cartooning since he first picked up a crayon in kindergarten. Dabbled with political cartooning, writing, and general illustrations but the bread and butter came from health care. Recently left professional nursing to concentrate on camping, hiking, nature, the outdoors, trees, trails, and peace of mind. Love a campfire; rather watch it than TV. Avoid bureaucracy, career ladders, ladder climbers, and hero worship at all cost. Evenings spent with a good book, reading until the book smacks my nose when I doze off. Generally up at sun rise, listen to the mourning doves, put the coffee on, and play it by ear the rest of the day.

Great to see a cartoon from you popping up in my feed again, though not so great times in America (or here for that matter, but for different reasons, and not involving guns). Hope you’re doing well.
I have been following Boris Johnson’s trials and tribulations but watching Climate Change issues mostly. Looks grim in UK at present with heat wave … homes made of stone with no central air conditioning are hot boxes. Take care.
Yes, we hit the high thirties centigrade today, same forecast for tomorrow, then, in true British fashion it collapses to eighteen on Wednesday, when I’ll venture out for a walk. Domestic air-con is a rarity here, but my house has a deep shady side, which rarely gets above the mid-twenties, so we’ll be keeping to that until then. All the best.
Yes,
I’m sure Michael alludes to our heatwave, kids dying in canals trying to cool off, fires all over Europe and God knows how many, though thankfully I’ve seen none so far in South London.
I’m mostly concerned with the net food production deficit that is leading to unreported starvation in East Africa that will, in turn come home to roost in the wealthy west. It’s only a matter of time now that the environment is so clearly out of hand.
But best we don’t all murder each other before we starve to death.
Peace Mr Schnell, keep running the gauntlet, I hope you, and Mrs Schnell are well!
I thought Covid got you it’s been so long. Glad you are still with us. Good toon! Just think, without mass shooters, the Americans would never make the world news. Mass shooters are keeping the USA in the news. It’s good for the American ego!
I moved from red state Missouri to a blue state in east…one that borders Canada. Been busy getting settled in. Moving is a stressful pain in the ass but well worth the trouble and cost leaving Misery (Missouri) far behind in the rear-view mirror. I have a supreme court cartoon to send you …e-mail. check your e-mail
